MultiView
Follow several matches, several news channels or an election night on a single screen: up to four live channels, with sound following the tile you pick.
How it works
MultiView shows one to four channels: one full frame, two side by side, three or four in a grid. Sound follows the active tile, outlined in orange. Click a tile, or press keys 1 to 4, to activate it.
- The + button adds a channel from your favourites, recents or search.
- On hover, you can change a tile's channel or remove it. The channel name and current programme are shown at the bottom.
- Stop all cuts every stream.
On Windows, Linux and Android, you also choose the layout (automatic, 2 × 2 grid, one big picture with the others small, side by side), you make a tile big with a double-click, and you save a group of channels under a name (for example “Football multiplex”) to reopen it in one click.
Why it is off by default
Each channel uses one connection to your provider. Since most subscriptions allow only one, MultiView stays disabled until you enter the number of simultaneous connections of your subscription, from 2 to 4, in the playback settings. For an Xtream source, the Test connection button shows this number.
A recording or a download also uses one connection. If a tile shows “The channel is not responding”, the provider probably refuses one more connection: remove a channel.
Opening it
From the Playback menu, with a right-click on a channel (Add to MultiView), or with a keyboard shortcut. The channel you were watching becomes the first tile, and main playback stops to free its connection, unless it is being recorded.
